My Grief Journey
In 2011 we experienced the death of our 20-year old son Grant. With a single phone call our lives were turned upside down. A journey began to incorporate this profound loss into our lives.
I graduated from Florida State University in 1987 and my early career was in the travel industry. I loved my job with Delta Airlines and then with a travel agency in Atlanta. Since I love to travel, both of these jobs provided this opportunity.
After Grant died, I was surprised how travel became an important part of my life again. I had the opportunity to travel to Africa to visit a boys home started by some of Grant’s friends. I traveled to Costa Rica and unexpectedly met another bereaved Mom. I traveled to Idaho for a 5-day rafting trip that started in “Grants Pass” and slept under the stars for the first time in my life!
Hobbies + Interests
I live in Florida with my husband of 36 years. We have 2 sons, Grant + Alex.
Every Sunday morning my husband + I love to take a long walk on the beach and jump in the ocean for a swim.
I am an amateur vegetarian chef. I love to read, kayak, make SoulCollage® cards with friends, groups and solo. I love to write and journal. I love to travel and to hear stories from others about their travels.
I have a long-time Ebay business which is so fun! On Saturday mornings you will find me scouring local garage + estate sales for items to sell!
